Supporting refugees in Kosovo

H.H came to Kosovo in 2019 with his pregnant wife L.S. and his one-year-old son. Since they arrived and asked for asylum, JRS Kosovo supported L.S. during the months of her pregnancy by accompanying her to regular medical visits and providing the medicines required.

At the end of 2019, this family was enlarged by a baby girl born in Prishtina Public Hospital, Kosovo. At that time, JRS also provided the basic things needed for a baby, such as clothes, diapers, baby food, and a stroller.

In 2020, this family received International Protection and they have been accommodated in a private apartment in a municipality close to Prishtina. In collaboration with the Department of Integration of the Ministry of Interior Affairs, which covers the rent of the apartment for this family, JRS is continuously providing support with food and non- items, as well as medical support.

H.H recently found a part-time job that allows him to cover some basic expenses for his family, but still not enough to cover all the needs of his wife and children. In February, because of very cold weather, JRS donated a wood stove to this family, so they can keep warm, having decent conditions in their apartment with no need to pay expensive electricity bills.
