JRS Croatia marked the World Refugee Day, as part of the 9th Refugee Week, 25.06.2022., in Park Ribnjak. The program was organized by the City of Zagreb, the Ribnjak Youth Center, the Jesuit Refugee Service and other civil society organizations.
In the foreword, the Bishop of Varaždin, Bože Radoš, says that it is courage to read this book and recommends to everyone the experience of Msgr. Sinety. He urges the readers to “boldly air” the voice of conscience when it speaks in them while reading.
Our daily presence in the center is what makes our work unique because it gives us the possibility to really get to know them and their stories and how to respond to their needs.
This document will be crucial in monitoring the integration process of foreigners in Kosovo.
On Saturday, 2 April 2022, JRS organized an Iftar feast at the monastery of the Handmaids of Charity (Italian: Ancelle della Carità) and at the pastoral center of the Vrbovec parish. The Feast served as an occasion for an intercultural encounter bringing together refugees, volunteers, and the local community.
In January 2022, JRS Croatia in partnership with UNHCR Croatia initiated a pilot project entitled “Strengthening the Capacity Of Parishes For Local Integration”.
The project will attempt to find an effective model for involving local Catholic parishes into the process of integrating beneficiaries of international protection into Croatian society.
JRS calls on Croatian authorities to find and develop, in partnership with civil society organizations, the best possible strategies to aid individuals and families in their efforts to provide housing and facilitate the rapid integration of Ukrainian refugees.
